Zahedi dates, also known as Qasab dates, are one of the best dry dates in terms of sugar amount, ease of storage, and transportation. Iranian Zahedi dates are fleshy and delicious. The shape of these dates is oval (egg-like).
These dates are usually graded based on the amount of humidity, skin color, and the amount of stickiness of the skin to the flesh (two grades A and B). One of the important features of grade A Zahedi date is its soft skin and light brown color. The color of the grade B date is brownish and the flesh is a bit drier than the Grade A date. One of the characteristics of this date is that it loses its moisture and dries up little by little over time. The size of this date is about 3.5 cm and the usual packing for this kind is 5 and 10 Kg bulk cartons.
