A few words about

Kalute dates, also known as Kalite or Kalote, are another variety of semi-dry dates. In terms of shape, color, and taste, it is similar to Mazafati dates. But due to lower moisture its flesh is a bit firm and the amount of skin stickiness to its flesh is a bit lower.

One of its key features is that it can be transported in a standard container without refrigeration and it has a longer shelf life at normal temperatures compared to other wet date varieties. During industrial processes in most cases, dates are sorted based on their size and appearance.

Grade A dates are large, with a dark brown or black color. They are often polished with edible oils to give them a shiny, attractive appearance. While grade B dates are smaller, taste as great as grade A dates. The humidity of grade B dates is between 14% – 17%, almost like grade A. These dates are typically packed in bulk packages with 5 Kg.
