Size and grades
Its approximate size is between 2.5 and 4 cm. This date is divided into two main grades A and B based on the amount of moisture. Grade A dates (A and A+) are placed in retail packages of 450 g to 600 g, and there are 12 of these retail boxes in a main carton. The weight of the main cartons varies between 6.8 to 8 Kg depending on the moisture percentage, which is one of the criterias for measuring the quality of grade A.
Grade A and A+
Grade A+ dates weight is between 7.2 and 7.8 and grade A dates weight is between 6.8 and 7.2. Grade A mazafati date moisture is more than 24%. These dates have high moisture, and for this reason, they are classified as wet dates, and a refrigerated container must be used for their transportation.
Grade B and B+
B+ date is a date which its humidity is somewhat similar to grade A date and its size is slightly smaller. Grade B dates have lower humidity in comparison with grade A (less than 24%) and are considered as semi-dry dates. These dates are supplied in main cartons weighing 5 Kg
